40 years ago....Red Army "liberated" Prague!

As i was strolling along the 步行街 (pedestrian street) in old town 中山 (China) yesterday evening, i was amazed to see a street "concert" held by a guitar and singer duet singing some what would be called in Taiwan "camppus songs". Very good young singers, both of them.

These photos have nothing to do with that "buxingjie" in Zhongshan, fortunately! They are the photos taken in August 40 years ago by Josef Koudelka in Prague. The infamous "Invasion of Prague" by the troops of Warsaw Pact communist countries and ironically associated with what happened a year before the crush down - the Spring of Prague.

If you are going to Prague recently, don't miss the exibition on this subject at the National Musuem of Prague, it would certainly help you to appreciate the beauty of the people and the place more!

I felt pretty much free walking on that buxingjie in Zhongshan last night, and was kind of joyful to be "harrassed" by those young "sex workers" at almost every corner of the street. "hi! Boss, let's have fun!" How could i not be? The Red Army had long been out of Prague and after 40 years of mutual bullying between Red China and Taiwan, we all should be joyful that China is now "over" the "communist Liberation" and that Ximending (one of the most joyful pedestrian streets in Taipei) is not liberated by the Red PLA soldiers!

Let's have fun! All you big Boss......of the world!
