Young, beautiful and ...naked!

During our last visit to the Exposition of Balthus (Balthasar Klosowski de Rola, 1908-2001) at Fondation Gianada in Martigny (Switzerland), it was a revelation - though we didn't see "the best" of his oeuvres.
One can easily tempted by his naked, young girls in some overtly sex-appealing paintings to conclude on his "obsession" of "mons pubis". But when we see that almost all the other artists of his time - Monet, Picasso, Cezanne, Dali...) had long given up on this more or less "classic" subject and style of painting, we may well get closer to his world of "frankness" vis a vis of our libido...our? maybe i should say "we male's libido"?
and Balthus is more than that, just as we, male viewers, are not that "libido-driven" upon viewing those sensual and harmonious paintings. though, the association of naked human body (both female and male) with beauty IS a matter of culture -since "our" common origin of Egypto-Greco culture, we? YES, we modern world viewers....i will tyr to make myself more explicit on this later on when i get back to Taiwan...
